We’re excited to introduce version 2 of the digdat Utilities Asset Plans (UAP) API, designed to make asset plan generation faster, easier and significantly more scalable for organisations producing plans at volume.

The UAP API provides a direct, automated way to generate the same asset plan PDFs available via the digdat Utilities website, removing manual steps and helping teams save valuable time.

What’s new in the latest version of our API

Version 2 builds on the foundations of the original API with several major enhancements designed for high volume and enterprise workflows:

  • All paper sizes supported – A4 to A0 - Generate asset plans in any paper size, including large plans such as A2, A1 and A0.
  • Statutory and non statutory plans on demand - Create free statutory plans where statutory access exists, or generate chargeable plans when required - all through the same API workflow.
  • Built for scale - Automate the generation of large volumes of asset plans quickly, without logging into the digdat Utilities website or manually creating plot areas.
  • Smarter delivery options - Smaller plans (A4-A3) continue to be returned instantly, but now all sized plans can be delivered via webhook or polling - ideal for batch processing.
  • Quick and simple setup - Easy API access via the digdat Developer Portal, with clear documentation to support integration.

All backed by digdat’s established utilities data and infrastructure.

Why it matters

For teams regularly producing asset plans, manual processes can be time consuming and difficult to scale. By automating asset plan creation:

  • Time spent on repetitive tasks is significantly reduced
  • High volumes of plans can be generated consistently and reliably
  • Faster delivery supports tighter SLAs and downstream workflows

Some users have reported time savings of up to 50% by switching from manual ordering to API driven plan generation.
